We don’t just grow cocoa beans; we work directly with chocolate makers and cocoa bean processing facilities to give them what they really need.

Marabel Farms has been in the organic cocoa bean farming and growing business for decades, providing raw products for U.S., European and Middle Eastern Markets. Marabel Farms is a producer of cocoa beans and also a co-op from the Dominican Republic specializing in Organic Sanchez and Organic Hispaniola.

We also offer raw and roasted cocoa nibs, cocoa butter, cocoa liquor, natural and alkalized cocoa powder and chocolate blocks.

There are three main types of pods:

Criollo – Known as the prince of cacaos, Criollo is a soft thin-skinned pod with a light color and a unique yet pleasant aroma.

Forastero – More plentiful than Criollo, Forastero is easier to cultivate. It has a thick-walled pod and produces a pungent aroma.

Trinitario – Believed to be a natural cross from strains of both the Criollo and the

Forastero, Trinitario has a wide variety of characteristics. These trees are particularly suited to cultivation and generally produce a good aromatic flavor.
